Sly as a...Trapper (evil laugh)

Is THIS the culprit of the first chicken snatching back in June?
Of that we cannot be sure, though we can be sure it will not snatch another, as it has been relocated (not dispatched in the manner on which we'd planned) to a willing friends' ranch miles from here.  (Fox pelts are "no good during the summer; that's why trappers trap during winter," according to our friend who traps for a living.  Who knew?  Or perhaps everyone knows that.)

The boys were all about the fox early yesterday morning before Hots took it to be released, but SK was fast asleep and just now looked over my shoulder at the photo.

SK:  What's that?
Me:  That's the fox that killed our chicken.  We trapped it and Daddy took it far away.
SK:  Ooooh.  It could get me, too?
Me:  Well, maybe.
SK:  I'm safe from that now.  It can't get me.

In related news we did trap a raccoon last week much to the chickens' delight since now they can free range once again.

We will keep the trap baited and keep a close eye on our flock.
