L and SK decided on their Halloween costumes early this year and luckily they were both simple. L's I could piece together from thrift stores here in Kerrville and SK's could easily be found online.
J, on the other hand, is on a Pokemon kick and poured through a ginormous book of several hundred Pokemon characters with Grandmama to choose the perfect one. Luckily (and perhaps knowing she would be roped in to the whole costume making situation again), Grandmama suggested he choose one that was more human-like in shape, etc, and he chose Blaziken.
With input from Pinterest, Grandmama, and Kaydie, this was created.
L was adamant he be a vampire and let Hots paint his hair and face for our church's trunk or treat. (I was out of town that day and was so excited to get this pic from Hots!)
SK said, "Tiguh" from day one.
On Halloween proper L decided to skip paint. We started at Grandmama's.
And went next door where Mr. Dave had set out PopRocks for the kids.
Next we headed to Kaydie's.
Hots for the photobomb
Kaydie's sweet neighbors had candy for the kids, though they said they hadn't had trick-or-treaters in years.
Last, we met up with some of our friends to walk a couple of blocks for an old school experience which was fun.
Well, we thought that was last, but saw these guys standing outside of their firehouse with candy on our way home so we had to stop. What a nice gesture and the kids loved getting candy from firemen.
