After several months of limping, Missy had knee surgery for a torn ACL last week which was also the first week back at school for the boys & SK, the week we had umpteen baby goats born, the week we had way below freezing temps, the week cedar fever was the worst, and the week J was sent home for possible impetigo which apparently is a big deal (but wasn't since it turned out not to be impetigo).
Anyway, SK and I got to watch the surgery and I even got my hands in on the action. Our vet and his wife were so accommodating to SK and me. I'd asked to watch and then rescheduled the surgery on a day that SK was not in school, so ended up having to take her along.
When she saw this:
she asked, "Is she dead?" about sixteen times. Understandable.
After the surgery was complete SK got to put on glasses and observe Missy getting laser treatment at her incision site.
Here's her repaired knee!
We are very happy with her recovery thus far as she has been up and around, basically having resumed her normal day to day activities.

Very happy for Missy. And, aren't you and SK big girls to be in on the event! Wow, the pics were almost too much for me. :/
